The Communication Process

Talking about communication process, there is a process between the speaker and the audience. The process takes place when a source which is also the speaker is trying to send a message or information to the audience.

As you can see, the image above shows the process of sending information, and it repeats and recycles. :D

To make things more simple, the source is actually the speaker and the receiver is either the audience or the listener. So it starts when a speaker is sending a message regardless whether it is verbal or non-verbal, the speaker is thinking(Encoding) of what message is to be sent to the audience. From that point, you can see that the Channel is actually the ways of sending message which mean that the message could be represent via different media such as Newspaper, magazine,Internet and others as well. Decoding process involves ways to interpret messages sent by the speakers to the receiver that would enable listeners to get the idea easily. There is actually Noise in the center which is the interference like raindrops, constructions sounds, a person's whisper and other environmental disturbance. Of course mechanical error such as the projector is not working or mobile phone is out of battery could be classified with Noise. It will then undergo the Decode process to translate (data or a message) from a code into the original language or form. Finally it will come to the receiver where the receiver/audience/listeners will start to Respond to the message whether they get the meaning of the message or not. The Feedback is the last cycle of the picture where results of listeners will give their feedback on what they think of the message whether it is understandable, accepted or rejected.

Sorry for the long explanation of the process. In short, i would like to give an example on how the communication process works.

Example.
Its like when you are in college attending your classes, your lecturer will be the speaker and he/she will start encoding information to the receiver which is the students and then the lecturer will start to send the information in different ways(Channel) like putting up an activity or maybe will pictures on the powerpoint slides and so on. Of course in the midst of that, there will be interruptions such as people talking, distractions from outside or maybe overflowing messages from friends and those are called the Noise. The date being shown with different mediums by the lecturer will be the decoding process to translate data or a message from a code into the original language or form(pictures, words, images, videos etc etc.).It will then reach to the students to see how they Respond to what their lecturer told them like smiley faces, or confused. Feedback is the last thing the student would do after responding in regards of whether they would understand the information given by their lecturer or they would ask questions if they are unsure. Thats about it. The Communication Process.

Its actually very easy to understand the process as it is also very helpful in terms of understanding between a speaker and a listener in our daily conversations.
:D

Cheers!
